Charlotte Bos

My name is Charlotte Bos and I am the President of the XXIXth board of the Financial Study association Rotterdam. I completed my Bachelor’s in International Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

During my Bachelor’s, I discovered a real passion for Finance and Consultancy. But the more I learned, the more I realised how broad these worlds are, and I wasn’t yet sure where I belonged or which Master’s would suit me best. Rather than guessing, I wanted to find out for myself, and a board year at FSR turned out to be the perfect way to do that. Our events span every corner of the financial sector, from banking and private equity to consultancy and beyond. That means I get to meet inspiring professionals, discover companies from the inside and see what different roles look like in practice. Every week brings something new, and every week I get a clearer picture of what excites me most. It is the kind of hands-on experience no lecture hall can offer.

My role as president

As President, I make sure our board is a team that works well together and enjoys doing so. I believe that starts with open, transparent communication, so everyone knows what is going on and feels free to speak up. I am always there for my fellow board members when they need advice or a fresh perspective, and I step in when things get challenging. This keeps me closely involved in almost everything we organise. It also means I am constantly learning: how to stay calm under pressure, how to handle difficult situations and how to make decisions that matter.

Beyond the board, I am responsible for FSR’s long-term strategy and for spotting new opportunities. The financial world moves fast, and I want FSR not only to keep up with global trends but to stay ahead of them. I also have the privilege of representing FSR on many occasions, both inside and outside the university. Being ultimately responsible for the largest independent study association of Erasmus University, with over 5,500 members, is a challenge I take on with great pride and enthusiasm.
