Richard Gaiser

Hi Everyone! I am Richard Gaiser, the Treasurer of the XXVIIIth board of the Financial Study association Rotterdam (FSR). I lived in Amsterdam for my entire life until I moved to Rotterdam for my studies. Here, I started with a bachelor Economics and Business Economics. I liked the more Finance related and practical courses by far the most, which made me decide to become a board member at the FSR.

During my Bachelor I still felt like I did not really understood the real working world and what it is to actually work in finance. What happens day-to-day? What are the cultural differences between firms, etc.?

Last year, I went to a few FSR events to find answers to such questions, and it helped a lot. This made me decide to further explore the practical side of finance. I also wanted to be the one who organized these events, being able to meet new people in the process. This way I can get to see the other side of the coin and create events that I think are interesting and relevant for my fellow students. Besides pinning down what area of finance I am most interested in, I also want to develop myself professionally and improve my skills.

My role as Treasurer

As Treasurer, the financial side of FSR and all that comes with it is my main responsibility. I keep a close eye on our budget, make strategic adjustments when necessary, and ensure the association remains financially healthy. That means working closely with my board members for all events. Besides the day-to-day business, I am always looking at the future of the association. Additionally, I will lead the Asset Management Tour, Conferences, and Masterclass committees.
