FSR x RSM | The Coming Battle of Digital Currencies Conference
- event 13 March, 2026
- location_on Sanders 0.04, Erasmus University Rotterdam
Are you curious about who will shape the future of money? During this panel discussion, we will explore the strategic contest between Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), stablecoins, and private digital payment platforms and examine what is truly at stake in this evolving monetary landscape.
As governments experiment with CBDCs, crypto-native firms expand stablecoin ecosystems, and private platforms integrate financial services into digital infrastructures, the boundaries between public and private money are becoming increasingly blurred. In this session, we will discuss the economic, political, and technological forces driving this transformation and why it matters for monetary sovereignty, financial stability, innovation, and global competition.
Each invited expert will begin with a 20-minute presentation outlining their perspective on the digital currency landscape. The session will conclude with a moderated panel discussion led by Thomas Lambert and Thu Nguyen (RSM), where we will further unpack the strategic tensions, regulatory trade-offs, and potential future scenarios for digital money.
