Bloomberg Masterclass

Next to the main events the FSR also organises multiple master classes. These masterclasses can help you to gain skills in multiple fields, which could benefit you in your career. Last year we organised several Bloomberg masterclasses and an assessment masterclass. Selection of all masterclasses is based on first-come first-serve.

Bloomberg Masterclass

Throughout the year the FSR will organise several masterclasses for students who want to become familiar with Bloomberg, which is extremely useful for gathering financial data. This masterclass will be organised by the FSR in collaboration with Bloomberg and the Erasmus Data Service Centre (EDSC).

The Bloomberg Masterclass focuses on students that have limited experience with the use of Bloomberg and are interested in the analysis of market data. During the one hour class the students will participate in a "Master the Terminal" session. This class teaches students how to navigate the Bloomberg terminal and use basic Bloomberg data gathering functions in Excel. The participants will work with Bloomberg on a computer while they follow the instructions on a big screen. The skills taught in this class can be very valuable for data analysis in order to conduct research.

In addition to this you will be shown how to obtain a Bloomberg Market Concept (BMC) certificate for free (normal price for students is $149). The BMC course is an eight hour self-paced e-learning course that provides a visual introduction to the financial markets.

There are 2 sessions:

  • 9th of May 15:00-16:00 (Y3-18 Polak)
  • 9th of May 16:00-17:00 (Y3-18 Polak)

Are you excited to improve your skills and learn more about the Bloomberg Terminal? Or do you want to become more familiar with the use of Bloomberg to perform research or write your thesis? Then join us for the Bloomberg Masterclass on the 9th of May.

Go to https://libguides.eur.nl/edsc-manuals for more information about how the data from the Bloomberg terminal can be applied in different ways.
