My name is Claudia Hofmans and I am the Commissioner Activities of the XXIth FSR board. Three years ago, I moved to Rotterdam to start the bachelor International Business Administration and I joined the sorority RVSV. In my second year I did the Eurotrip committee for which I organized a trip to Lisbon. In my third year I spent a few months studying abroad in England. Both these experiences showed me how important it is to participate in extracurricular activities. When I returned to Rotterdam, I realised I wanted a gap year in which I could develop myself in a different way before starting a master’s degree. A board year at the FSR provides me with the experience that would allow me to further develop my organisational and personal skills.
When I was researching the different possibilities, FSR caught my attention. FSR wants to link finance/accountancy students to the business world by organizing interesting and various events during the year. This makes it the perfect opportunity to evolve my organisational skills and gain insights in the business world. As a board member of the FSR you see many different organizations in the financial, accounting and consulting sectors.
As the Commissioner Activities, I am responsible for the HR, the International Research Project, the Big 4 Cycle and the Consultancy Day. HR entails that I am responsible for the recruitment of the committee members, this includes contact, promotion and interviews with the students who apply.
In addition, I am responsible for the organization of one of the larger events of FSR, the International Research Project. This project takes place in July 2019 and this year we will travel to South America with the committee and 15 participants. Most of my time is allocated to the organization of this project to ensure it will be a success.
I am very grateful to be given this opportunity and excited to see what this year will bring.
